About Kate Spera

My oldest child has a rare genetic mutation and in the beginning, we felt lost navigating the supports available to him and our family. We began to carve our own path, and knew that I wanted to be with families that understood the journey of having a child with special needs. So, I started attending a parent group. It was so empowering to be with others that understood what I was feeling. Years later, I began facilitating that same parent group at my children’s school.

It has been a continual practice to cultivate self compassion, but through that, resourcefulness emerged. I am passionate about connecting families, because no one should feel alone. Raising a family is a community effort, and when parents feel supported, children thrive. I look forward to creating community with Includ(Ed).
